Parrots have been telling us who they are and what they want for
as long as we've lived beside them. Caretakers recognize their
requests for a favorite song, TV show, or movie, along with
special treats and activities.
With digital tablets, some parrots are even using video calls to
contact other bird friends and caretakers, while sharing their
thoughts, opinions, and questions through special communication
devices.
We are giving our parrots access to these special communication
tools to more deeply understand their ability to communicate their
needs and express themselves creatively.
We are studying more than just memory and intelligence. We want to
understand how parrots think and what their minds are capable of,
making it easier to protect these incredible lives.
